"I liked the book, but I didn't love the person who read it for the audiobook. For a long time I thought the characters were super young, but later realised it was just the way she read it. Great plot twist and a quick read. If you loved this book, I recommend The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma. "
"The story in itself is great; although a bit redundant in the mystery genre. I got a bit tired after 25% because I couldn’t figure out the clues, and everything felt so stretched out. But when the truth started unraveling, the story developed a new meaning. I was mad at the main character, not only for saying “Gat, my Gat” too many times, but for her actions. But, I think that’s the art of literature.
Record to self: finished in 5hrs"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is truly one of my favorite books of all time. I read it in the car with my mom, siblings, and grandparents so I had to stifle my sobbing so they wouldn't ask me why I was crying. The answer would have probably went something like "BECAUSE THIS BOOK IS SO BEAUTIFULLY MESMERIZING IT MAKES MY HEART LITERALLY HURT! NOT TO MENTION THE ENDING--" And that's where I would've had to stop because I'd be choking on more tears."
"Since we are following around this privilege white family it was really hard to connect with any of them find the will to care honestly the whole time I was just like when is this grandpa gonna kick it I thought the story was going to get dramatic and crazy but it didn't really till the last chapter it was more of an angsty teen story that was kinda sad and dark The book is pretty slow and boring for a lot of it I honestly didn’t see that end coming at all tho and I was a bit confused for a min so it didn't really hit immediately but once I sat there and was like waittt the plot twist had me crying which had me surprised that was the real plot twist lol I do wish the whole book had the same energy as the ending because it would have been such an outstanding story much more interesting i probably would have DNF in the first few chapters if it wasn't for the audiobook the narrator gave so much emotions to each character"
