Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Likewise Book Reviews
"Watched the series first and loved it. I guess nothing in the book stood out to me. The third-person narration drove me a little crazy. Dexter seemed a lot more careless in the book than in the show. Still, the killer kept me guessing.
The plot for Dexter is very fascinating. I enjoyed seeing how he interacted with people and also his thought process in certain situations. Dexter doesn't feel but has a sense of loyalty that's hard to pinpoint. The inner monologing was very tedious at times. Especially when he is about to kill someone. Thirty minutes would go by and there would be no progression.
Haha, I couldn't get over all the GD Dexters almost like it was his name. Debra was annoying always cussing Dexter instead of fixing things herself. Still, I enjoyed the dynamics of their relationship. The rhymes didn’t fit and were strange at times. I just don't see things getting better so I think I'll stop at book one."

"I didn't think that I would enjoy this as much as I thought I would. This one was actually difficult for me to put down.

So we all know that Dexter has a mysterious side to him; well, in the book, he's even more mysterious. There is quite a bit about dexter that gets left out if you're comparing the book to the show. I was surprised at how many differences there were between the show and the book, but I think it's good.

I found that the character development was a different method that I had not read before. It mostly focuses on Dexter and Deborah, which I know are the main characters, but too many times, I have seen authors give a whole synopsis on each character that was important to the story. Just not something I'm used to, but I didnt mind it.

I would so love to read this again. I loved every minute of it.
Happy reading"
"Dexter Morgan is a blood spatter analyst who works at the Miami-Dade Police Department, but he's also a serial killer. When he's not helping catch bad guys, he's taking care of them his own way. I'm a fan of the TV show so I decided to finally read the book. It did not disappoint. Very thrilling, intriguing, and Dexter is, as always, my favorite serial killer."
