INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER * READ WITH JENNA'S APRIL BOOK CLUB PICK * The Husbands delights in asking: how do we navigate life, love, and choice in a world of never-ending options? ("A bottomless champagne flute of a novel --The Washington Post) When Lauren returns home to her flat in London late one night, she is greeted at the door by her husband, Michael. There's only one problem--she's not married. She's never seen this man before in her life. But according to her friends, her much-improved decor, and the photos on her phone, they've been together for years. As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can't remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears. In his place, a new man emerges, and a new, slightly altered life re-forms around her. Realizing that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you've taken the right path? When do you stop trying to do better and start actually living?

"3.5⭐
This book was longer than it needed to be, but I still enjoyed it. It was incredibly amusing! It pulled me in from the first chapter and kept me thoroughly entertained! By chapter 22 Lauren had discarded 160 husbands! I mean, that's crazy!!! I think this book would have been better if it had fewer husbands and focused more on them, rather than just blowing through so many. I was really rooting for Carter, so I was sad when he disappeared. That being said, I really enjoyed the ending! Yes, it was abrupt, but I liked that we were left with hope for Lauren and Sam's future. I liked getting to see the ending from Sam's POV, and getting to see how much he loves Lauren. It was a nice change of pace. The plot was unique and fun, and I enjoyed the writing style! I definitely don't regret checking it out!"
"This book was funny and unexpected. A delightful blend of comedy and introspection on the lifestyle of marriage and the ways it can impact your life. I would recommend it to those that enjoyed the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”."

"I adore this book! A magic attic that will give you a new husband every time one of them goes up into it. Time continues to move forward but your life is altered with every new husband. This book gave me Midnight Library vibes but much less depressing. It's hilariously funny, and lighthearted. It was almost a 5-star book except for Lauren becoming a little unhinged in the end and I wish the book ended differently. But overall, a great book! 4.5 stars"
"This book takes a turn for the absolute worst. The concept was intriguing but poorly executed. 60% into the book you pray for a drop of character development and you’re left with a series of events that shows how batshit crazy the MC is (iykyk) instead. I couldn’t enjoy reading this. It was too frustrating to find funny, the jokes all landed flat, and the MC was unbearable. Her getting a happy ending considering how selfish and shallow she had been throughout the book, really made me want to set the book on fire. "
"Was interesting in the beginning, then just became repetitive. Towards the middle it got my attention for a bit, but I was so disappointed in how it ended"

"What an interesting concept!

I connected with Lauren on her plight and mourned with her when a possible keeper accidently left and was replaced.

I would have given five stars but there is a section that gave me cringe.

Otherwise, a fun read and an enjoyable journey."
"This was really weird, but it was a pretty compulsive read, at least for my brain right now. I just don’t understand what I was supposed to get from this story. Resignation? Also I didn’t really like Lauren. I kind of did at first, then I drifted to “meh,” and then it took a turn for straight up dislike. So all in all like a 2.5? Let me tell you, it was an odd book to read around my own wedding anniversary but I suppose in a way it made me grateful! Small wins."
