Comonique SimmonsFast paced, spicy mafia romance with great plot. I really enjoyed Ace and Carolina's story and once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. The twist in the book caught me off guard and I love it when things happen in books that I don't expect to be coming. I am very excited to continue to the next book. The story follows Ace and Carolina. Ace is soon to take over his family mafia business, but he has to get married before he can take it over. Carolina was given a job opportunity to be a server at Diamond Knotts, a BDSM club, where Ace meets Carolina. Ace has a compelling desire to make her his submissive. Carolina has always wanted a dominant but doesn't know how to find one. When Carolina is put in an unsafe position Ace's dominance takes over to protect her. An instant connection is formed. When questions rise about Carolina's familial history, secrets are exposed.
Comonique SimmonsI loved, loved, loved this book so much! A Jingle Bell Mingle is the third book of A Christmas Notch and is by far my favorite of the series. This book has loveable characters, it is emotionally complex and has great character development, a superb plot and is paced perfectly. Isaac and Sunny have amazing chemistry, and I adore their story, and the cat, Mr. Tumnus. The spice is scorching hot, and I mean HOT! I was giggly, blushing, and was smiling so much in this book. The descriptive details were phenomenal! This book gave true Christmas vibes with the chilly snowy nights and snuggled up next to a cozy fireplace. This will definitely be a Christmas time re-read! Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone truly did a wonderful job with this story. The story follows Sunny who is a part-time adult film star who is trying to write a screenplay for a movie she pitched. While in the small town of Christmas Notch she reconnected with sad boy Isaac for another steamy one-night stand. The following morning Sunny's motel room turns into a nightmare and Isaac offers for Sunny and her possibly demonic cat to come stay at his mansion. Sunny agrees, and they soon discover they both have a creative block. Sunny will help him find his muse and Isaac will help her find more about the local lore.
Comonique SimmonsVery interesting story. I was not into the book during the first half and was kind of hoping for it to be over, but honestly once I hit 50% into the book, I saw the story come together and I could not put it down. How to stop a murder that has already happened, but when you go to sleep and then wake up you travel backwards in time until you can find out how to stop the crime from happening. I really enjoyed seeing Jen travel back in time to days that were so busy for her at the time and see things that she has missed and recognize how her son changed over the years. There was one point that I was tearing up because it made me reflect on the fact that I wish I could have a day to go back and enjoy with my children again when they were toddlers.
Comonique SimmonsOne of the best dark romances I have read! Still Beating is enthralling, suspenseful and heart-breaking. I could not put this book down; I finished it in less than 12 hours. I had to know how Cora's and Dean's story was going to end. The first part of the book I was thinking to myself, 'How is this a romance?' it's gut-wrenching what the characters had to endure. Part 2 and 3 was outstanding! The connection between Cora and Dean that was formed through trauma and in the darkness is one that could never be broken. The healing, love, and sacrifice is what makes this story truly incredible. Check triggers! But if you love dark romance HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 5 stars!!! Best read of 2024 by far and don't know how it can be topped.
