"Having seen the American films "The Ring" and "The Ring 2" with Naomi Watts, I had a fairly high expectation going into the original book which inspired them. I was not let down. It is creepy from the beginning, and the suspension just grows. I definitely want to check out its sequels "Spiral" and "Loop", books 2 and 3 respectively."

Also, the rapist character is weird & pointless, and it's even ******* weirder that his friend listens to his stories & stays silent."

"There's a lot to like about this book, but an equal amount, if not more, to dislike. First of all, the pacing and atmosphere are great, I liked that aspect. The story itself was good. The problem is with the misogynistic portrayals of women and the inclusion of SA. That alone brought to entire story down for me. The main characters aren't likeable and I found myself not really caring whether they lived or died by the end. I'd probably rate this 2 stars, maybe 2.5, but I wouldn't recommend it."
