Grace is fascinated by the wolves in the woods behind her house; one yellow-eyed wolf in particular. Every winter, she watches him, but every summer, he disappears. Sam leads two lives. In winter, he stays in the frozen woods, with the protection of the pack. In summer, he has a few precious months to be human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. When Grace and Sam finally meet, they realize they can't bear to be apart. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human - or risk losing himself, and Grace, for ever.

"Honestly this book was alright. I liked the way it started off, it intrigued me. But once I started to read more, I just felt like it was "weird". At some moments it felt tedious and most of the time I was thinking "I don't need to know every single thing they do, say or think". I found myself rolling my eyes multiple times and for me that's not a good sign. I don't think I'll be reading the next book or even the rest of the series. It was an okay read overall."
"3/5. I would only recommend this for the long haul. I love the ending so much. It’s heartbreaking and satisfying, but good god I hate the beginning. The beginning was cringe as the two original pair up. The main character comes across as obsessed with the wolves, and it was the most frustrating sequence. I could have cried when the action finally picked up about halfway through the book."
