"I work at a library and I picked this book up on a whim when a patron returned it. So glad I did! I flipped through the pages before checking it out and once I hit “The Mad Scientist” I knew immediately this book was gonna be special. I truly feel like children’s literature is on another level these days! I’m so happy kids will have positive, super inclusive books like this to grow up with.

Please don’t sleep on this book and don’t sleep on Chad Sell and the amazing people who contributed to the stories in this book. If you’re a little bit nerdy, if you’re really nerdy, if you like sweet, touching, diverse stories or kids being creative and awesome and hilarious and completely themselves—I can’t recommend it enough. Especially if you have kids. It’s a no-brainer. Kids of color being represented in nerd culture? No. Brainer.

Fair warning: all of these characters will melt your heart and you’ll probably cry but you’ll be fine I promise.

Alice and Becky? Name a better duo. The Animal Queen and The Gargoyle? Professor Everything and the humble Scribe? The Huntress and the Big Banshee? The Prince and his Royal Rogue? Any pairing in the Army of Evil? I don’t know—it’s impossible not to have more than one fav character, tbh.

Stop reading my review and read this book instead! I was welling up with happy tears by page 47! I am literally Becky! Get obsessed with me!!!!"
