Izumi’s life is a Tokyo dream come true. Only. . . Her parents’ engagement hits a brick wall. The Imperial Household Council refuses to approve the marriage citing concerns about Izumi and her mother’s lack of pedigree. At the threat of everything falling apart, Izumi vows to do whatever it takes to help win over the council. Which means upping her newly acquired princess game. But at what cost? "Loved this book!!! It would be amazing if we could have another book in this series focused around when Mak and Hanako first met! That would be super cute! Especially if we get to see both of their perspectives."

"*beware of spoilers* I don’t usually include any spoilers in my reviews but I have to mention my stance on certain situations in this book!
a good follow up book to Tokyo Ever After! not as good as the first book but I definitely think if you enjoyed the first one, you’ll want to read this one too! it’s basically a continuation of Tokyo Ever After. I liked getting to know more about Izumi and her family and friends! I loved her and Akio in the first book but I felt bad for Eriku ;( I was kind of rooting for him and Izumi! I felt like Akio had left her already and so she shouldn’t have gone back to him, Eriku was so nice to her and never hurt her in the way Akio had. but I am glad she was able to think out her decision and choose who would be best for her. 3.5 ⭐️s"

"Gave up. I think the first book was pretty okay, and probably could’ve stayed as a stand alone, of course I understand that the author wanted to expand on this universe a little bit and that’s perfectly fine! That being said, I think because the first book took a while to develop, the second book was not as enticing because you had to sit through the dragging plot for a while. Eventually I just lost interest."

"I absolutely LOVED this book. Such a great story. Funny thing is I read this book with no knowledge that it was a sequel. Still a great book despite my stupidity of not reading the first installment."
