Julia Whelan
From the author of My Oxford Year, Julia Whelan's uplifting novel tells the story of a former actress turned successful audiobook narrator--who has lost sight of her dreams after a tragic accident--and her journey of self-discovery, love, and acceptance when she agrees to narrate one last romance novel. For Sewanee Chester, being an audiobook narrator is a long way from her old dreams, but the days of being a star on film sets are long behind her. She's found success and satisfaction from the inside of a sound booth and it allows her to care for her beloved, ailing grandmother. When she arrives in Las Vegas last-minute for a book convention, Sewanee unexpectedly spends a whirlwind night with a charming stranger. On her return home, Sewanee discovers one of the world's most beloved romance novelists wanted her to perform her last book--with Brock McNight, the industry's hottest, most secretive voice. Sewanee doesn't buy what romance novels are selling--not after her own dreams were tragically cut short--and she stopped narrating them years ago. But her admiration of the late author, and the opportunity to get her grandmother more help, makes her decision for her. As Sewanee begins work on the book, resurrecting her old romance pseudonym, she and Brock forge a real connection, hidden behind the comfort of anonymity. Soon, she is dreaming again, but secrets are revealed, and the realities of life come crashing down around her once more.If she can learn to risk everything for desires she has long buried, she will discover a world of intimacy and acceptance she never believed would be hers.

"If you are an audiobook fan definitely listen to this one! Narrated by the author who also happens to narrate some of my other all time favourite audiobooks! This book is smart and funny. It recognizes the hilarity of the romance category while also having so many tropes and being a romance novel itself. All of the characters were developed so well in this book and I especially loved Blah. Outside of the tropes and unlikely coincidences it hits on some real struggles and shows some beautiful character development. I love this book would definitely recommend. 1/5 spice. It’s really not spicy but there is an open book scene and talk of sex throughout. "
"This book never fully took off for me. There were several different story lines going on at the same time. I didn’t feel overly interested to keep reading and tried to read faster to be done. Overall, it wasn’t my fave, but I do know there are a lot of people that enjoyed it and compared it to novels/authors that I really like. Only ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me. "
"Very well written (and read) non romance romance novel. More rom com maybe. A fun fast read / listen. If there was ever a book to listen to, it’s this one, naturally!!"

"A very different love story about audio narrators who narrates HEA romances for a living. Really loved the character development of the main characters as well as the supporting ones. This is not your usual HEA romances with perfect looking MCs. Julia Wheelan did a commendable job of creating characters from real life, characters with disabilities, with insecurities, not so perfect but look at the story she ended up telling was soo perfect. The only reason I am taking out a star is at times the story telling dragged and I got impatient."
"If you have been living under a rock and haven’t ventured into the land of audiobooks…Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan and narrated by Julia Whelan is the audiobook you need to start with and pronto!

Yes, this is a romance novel because it has its HEA…however, the characters do go back and forth deciding into which direction it could possibly venture into.

The banter between the two ‘narrators’ was amusing, charming and incredibly funny.

I love the tongue and cheek title of the book because it is one of the most appropriate titles ever. Julia at the end makes sure the reader is very aware that this book is NOT an autobiography!

HOLY COW— THE NARRATION and all the voices she was able to play in this book..AHMAZING!

Julia Whelan—You are the reason why so many readers have and keep making the transition to listening to audiobooks…THANK YOU for allowing our books to come alive through your voice ♥️"
"This was a lovely surprise! Great banter that made me laugh out loud. Fun play on the romance tropes we all love."
