"The gist: I am an emotional wreck and this review is a mess so prepare yourself. And I thought my expectations couldn’t get any higher…this freakin book. I went into this expecting Five Feet Apart, but nooo. This one killed me (and what kind of ending is that?!?!). Augustus Waters is now my all time favorite book character, he is utterly amazing, hilarious, and lovably-pretentious. I loved how you could see Hazels emotions changing throughout the book so much. I wish Issac would have gotten a little more dialogue because I loved his sarcasm, but I was overall happy with what he got. I don’t believe this book is overrated (probably one of my all time favorites tbh) and I will not take any criticism. Chapter 13 and after was heart wrenching and most definitely tear jerker material. The book was so beautiful and brilliant, smart and funny, relatable (to an extent) and depressing. Kickstarted my tear ducts, I probably lost 20% of the water in my body during and after the gas station scene. I will be wallowing in the leftover feelings of this one for QUITE a while.“Dude, I’ve been alone in the dark in this cave for weeks…” if yk, yk. “Oh, I wouldn’t mind, Hazel Grace. "If this book taught me anything, it’s to live life by your standards. Enjoy what you have while you have it. Our time here is limited, and the characters in the book really highlight the importance (or lack there of) of pushing through life’s problems and seeing everything through. No matter who we are or what we’re going through, we can all be strong like Gus and Hazel. The book also teaches us that love never dies, no matter who or what you may lose. A great lesson about love, life, and loss."

"It was okay. Like a 3/5 stars for me. A bit too existential coming from 16 year olds for me. But overall it was decent, and it did make me cry. I just feel like it would have been more realistic if the characters had been older. "
