"This book was AMAZING!!! This series has me in a chokehold, and I can't even be bothered to care! I finished this book so fast! I literally could not put it down! Is it perfect? No. Does that make me love it any less? Also no. Kai and Paedyn are one of the most amazing book couples ever! The tension, the banter, the sass! *chef's kiss* I'm a total sucker for the ‘dagger to throat’ trope, and this book has it in spades! 🥵 The beginning of the book felt a bit slow paced, but the rest of it more than made up for that fact. The ending sent me into a total tailspin, and I will now be waiting (not so patiently) for book three. 1,000% recommend checking out this series!"
"Not about the review but it was really weird how this book would only come up under the search “Powerless 2” but not “Reckless”. So if y’all are having a hard time finding the book; that’s why. As always, this review contains SPOILERS! Lauren made a TikTok talking about the 4 truths and 1 lie. I would love to know what y’all had predicted. I had thought that Paedyn was going to get her dagger back. However I can’t be sad that she didn’t because I would have been soooo mad if Lauren had touched Pae’s silver hair. Over all the book was good. I heard a lot of people saying that you would like this book more than the first if you were a fan of romance, or the first book better if you preferred fantasy. The banter between Pae and Kia did feel repetitive and so did the dialogue. There was definitely points in the book where they both were very irritating. I would still recommend reading this series and can’t wait for the third book! (I’m re-pasting this review from the original.)"
"4.5 ⭐️ I have been impatiently waiting for this book to release since I went absolutely bonkers for Powerless. While I am completely head over heels for Kai and Pae, the beginning of this book felt repetitive. Regardless, I could not stop reading and I felt it picked up more substance in the latter half. The stakes just never felt as high as they did in the first book and I predicted the ending. Was this book perfect? No. Will I immediately read the next book in the series when it comes out? Absolutely yes."
"**SPOILERS**
is it possible that the books in this series just get better and better the more you read? like im DREADING waiting until april 5, 2025 for the third book because WTF. i feel like we all expected kai and paedyn to have such a hard time tracking each other down and staying away from each other. and as much as kai’s character is “i am my kingdom” he feels too much for paedyn to be what his kingdom needs him to be. and kitt’s pov…WHAT THE…you know i realize after the first book i had false hope it would be the end of his pov’s, but I really hoped it would be the end. because he’s such an unnecessary character and lauren roberts did such a good job at making him a character you didn’t mind at first (hell you even thought in different circumstances he could be cute) but now it’s just old and you hate him. like womp womp move on buddy. and i feel like much like the original king, he used manipulation to bend kai to following the rules. now the king abused him and punished him, kitt is using his relationship as leverage to control his brother which some might say is even worse than the physical pain of making someone (depending on situation of course) however if i were to be writing his honestly i do feel like the basis of the storyline was expected. kai would be sent as the enforcer to bring paedyn back to the new king for punishment, and kai would soon retaliate or fall for her completely. and as expected as it was, it was also SO unexpected in all the best ways. which brings me to my final thought, BUY THE DAMN PHYSICAL COPIES. these characters are so complex and there’s so many details to tear apart about the resistance and how paedyn was actually an orphan. "If no one has told you, you will get little to nothing but teasing there relationship this entire book. Do I think it's a stepping stone for a whole story to unravel? Yes I do. Am I happy with the ending? Heck NO. But I can understand the need for this book and everything in it. It truly was SO GOOD. I'm just bitter about the end lol"
