"This was a good book and I LOVE this world and Fourth Wing so I’ll keep reading for sure. Iron Flame felt like it dragged on a little and a lot world building and information happened in this book. The flow of the story didn’t quite feel as fast paced as the first book. I am excited to keep reading this series and of course this one leaves us on a cliff hanger bigger than in Fourth Wing in my opinion. There is some spice but honestly I barely notice it with everything else going on. More scenes than Fourth Wing I think. 1.5-2/5 spice level. "

"The second book isn't that different from the first with similar tropes you'd expect from a YA romance. Plot twists keep the story entertaining, and it's nice to see the main couple working on their issues together. Moreover, watching siblings bonding together again is healing. There are things I dislike, though: too much drama, maximalism of nearly every character, and a typical "only we can save the world now!" trope."
