The story is plot-driven as opposed to character-driven, but the characters are still interesting and well-written. The writing is incredibly immersive and so engaging. I can’t wait to read Spinning Silver next!"

The characters were also enjoyable, well considered and mostly not overpowered (when they were it made sense in the story). Honestly liked it better than A Deadly Education, though that was also pretty good for me."

This book had me like putty in its hand, I was utterly obsessed, it had everything I liked, until the romance plot came into play. After that I couldn’t even finish it, I found it pretty gross considering the Dragon’s prior treatment of the MC and their ages…I mean I’m okay with big age gaps but to me this feels like wayyy more than that"

After ten years the girl is free to go but never returns home for long. This is how one of the best fantasy stories in a long time. Great mythology and lore you will not go wrong with this book"

It gets a little slow around the middle but picks back up pretty quickly. There are only three “adult” scenes in the book if that makes you feel uncomfortable, but they’re all pretty short."

But pure fantasy the best one I've read in a while is the kingkiller chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, but I'm sure everybody has already seen that in their recommendations at this point. The prince of thorns and the sequels were also pretty dang good."
