"It was cute, but I actually enjoyed the movie more🤷♂️ I give it a 2/5
Also there are some very problematic things in the book like fat phobia and a hint of racism when the grasshopper says he would rather be cooked and eaten by a Mexican, which was a very unnecessary line and honestly a gross thing to write."
"Highly enjoyed the narrated version by Julian Rhind-Tutt with sound effects. This was another movie I had grown up with as a kid and did not know was a book. So sadly I enjoyed the movie more. It seemed to have more adventure and a cohesive plot line. Even so I loved the book as well. Quirky and fun characters all bottled up together in a peach."
"Loved reading the book to my daughter . Also loved seeing the play with my daughter at the Children's theater. "

"What I believe to be one of Dahl's underrated stories. A creative concept that includes a magical element. This was my favorite childhood movie and when I found the book lying around the house, I just knew I had to pick it up. As many say the books are better than the movies, I still have yet to find any counters to that claim."
