"This is great for those who love books where the main character goes away to a special school to learn magic. However, this one has an interesting twist where he tries to fail the test to get in the school but makes it anyway. The reason behind his father not wanting him to learn magic is quite a surprise! Themes of friendship, bravery, and secrets make it a great book for young readers. "
