I don’t have time for whiny brats IRL or in fiction. But minus him, it’s a fantastic book with a peaceful ending (that sounds ominously like death, its not death)."

One of the main characters, Tova, is an elderly woman who is a night cleaner at a local aquarium and she forms a friendship with a very exceptional octopus. As the story develops, we learn how the different characters are connected and the octopus ends up playing a key role in helping us see that. The characters were all likeable and relatable and I found myself wanting each one to have a happy conclusion in the story. I don't really know how to categorize this book since it was so original and creative, yet it was realistic and believable. It got me out of my reading slump and I'm sure that I will read it again later. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a story that will make you feel good!"

There are some teeny tiny continuity issues that are mostly small details. But the story definitely makes it worth it. It’s a slice of life with a light tinge of mystery, old age and found family. Also parts of the story are told by a very lovable and super smart octopus. So that’s cool."
