"I am so glad that I continued reading the Rick Riordan books! This is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series. It introduces all new characters while still including many of the favorites. We get to see a lot more characters from the Mythology stories and not just other gods. The story line is amazing in my opinion, they bring out a lot of the “lesser gods” and a lot of the less talked about tales. I really enjoyed the storytelling and the characters. They seemed real and understandable. I think Riordan did a great job at sucking readers into the story. I actually loved the quest here more than the Percy Jackson first book. The characters have a lot more responsibility and the plot seems more flushed out. I think that the continuity between the Percy Jackson books and these are seamless. And there’s a lot more story to tell. It’s definitely worth a read if you’ve had any interest in Mythology as a whole. It definitely made we want to keep reading to the end. "
