"At first I thought I had somehow ran across another version of the Housemaid and Verity… you have the perfect couple, but some lady who works for them worms her way in, steals the man and finds out he’s a monster… while this plot is overdone, this version was good! This brought in components that made it stand separate from the rest, weaving a really interesting story.
I enjoyed the way the author broke the story into three parts: Amber, Daphne, and the conclusion. This was a great way to give you a perspective of the story and see how little or how much that character actually knew. I really enjoyed it. "
"This was a quick read with short chapters, though it was pretty slow the first 1/3 of the book. There were parts that were hard to read toward the end, but the ending was very satisfying. It reminded me too much of The Housemaid, and for that reason I predicted the outcome pretty early on. "
"I’ve read a book before with a similar plot so that’s why I didn’t give it a higher rating. But over all a great plot that kept me going. Love, deception, friendship and loss are all big themes throughout the book and trigger warning about domestic violence. "
