Brandon Reed I wasn't expecting the music to be rock. I was expecting show tunes. I was surprised at the overall quality of the songwriting, though some songs were better than others.

Nona Lisa So this is your first time watching! I was lucky enough to go to a great audience participation showing in Grants Pass, Oregon Everyone dressed up like we were cast members in crazy attire and we all brought our newspapers and rice! Everyone knew just when to yell out the lines we were meant to say. It was kind of epic and I'd do it every Friday night, if it was available. I also own the deluxe version. The Laverne Cox remake wasn't half bad either!

Nona Lisa No, I just added the extra periods (which can definitely convey confusion but is also used for comic relief.....by me) because you did. You did it as though you were contemplating going with the actual word but ended up going with a much nicer option. I was just playing along.

Brandon Reed The sets and props were simply phenomenal.

Brandon Reed Standout characters for me were Frank, Rocky, and Columbia. Brad and Janet seemed to have little autonomy. I wish that Eddie had gotten more scenes. I like Meat Loaf a lot, and the character had some promise.

Brandon Reed I don't expect a Broadway-style musical to have a highly cohesive plot, but Rocky Horror's plot is basically nonsensical. Or did I miss something? Or did I miss the point? Is it supposed to be nonsensical?

Nona Lisa I wanted to say this but didn't know how to put it into words, so I let the Google AI do it for me. "Yes, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is intentionally designed to have a somewhat nonsensical plot, with a focus on campy, over-the-top elements, bizarre characters, and sexual innuendos, rather than a coherent narrative, which is part of what makes it so iconic for audience participation and its cult following; the absurdity of the plot is meant to be part of the fun."

Brandon Reed @nona_lisa_69 Well, I suppose that answers that! Have you ever watched Bob's Burgers? And, if so, have you seen the episode where Bob takes Tina to see Vampire Disco Death Dance? It's, I think, a nice homage to Rocky Horror and the devoted following.

Nona Lisa I haven't seen that episode, but now I'll have to go find it.

lyzander cross Has anyone here seen the remake and the version from Glee. When I heard glee was doing an episode revolving around the late night double feature Rocky horror picture show I was sceptical that it would be good but it was actually really faithful and probably my favourite episode of glee then when the movie was being remade I was excited for it but it almost feels like the remake saw Glee's version, was disappointed that it wasn't more gleeified and decided to make a version that felt like Glee

Nona Lisa I have seen the Laverne Cox remake but not the Glee episode. I didn't watch Glee, but I'll have to try to find that episode. Thanks!

Brandon Reed Meat Loaf and someone else from the movie had cameos in the Glee version, I think.

Shinebox This played for years at our town movie theatre but usually at midnight on weekends. When we were little we thought this movie would be so scary bc they usually advertised it outside next to the Shining at that only showed at 8pm or 10pm. This one must be the scariest if it’s at midnight. Imagine our surprise when as young teenagers we snuck out to see this & were like “Wait WTH?”

Brandon Reed "What are these floating lips? Why is everyone singing and dancing? Why is it campy?" Lol
