Sucre said Deafness, a lot about how deafness was treated at the time. I hesitate to add this book to this list as many in the Deaf community don't see deafness as a disability, but I feel it's worth a read and want to recommend it

Sucre said A memoir by a woman who was in an accident that permanently disabled her. This goes into extreme detail about the kind of care the author receives, and doesn't flinch when talking about the hard stuff. A relatable memoir for anyone grieving their abled life and future.
