"A powerful drama with great cast."

"An amazing film of a mother-daughter relationship that show how their lives mirror and contrast each other (and a tear jerker ending to boot). Incredible performances and chemistry between Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine (a rare instance where both deserved to share the Oscar IMO), with Jack Nicholson and Jeff Daniels also standing out. Really happy a film like this won Best Picture."

"Get the tissues out for this one. Watch this when it came out. "

"Finally watched this film for the first time and am utterly confused by all the praise this film gets. The mother daughter toxic dynamic made this film unenjoyable and neither character had any redeeming qualities. Must not have had many good films for Oscars that year because the fact this film won best picture is laughable. "

"This movie should come with a warning - I ugly cried like never before. I adored this movie. It makes me want to go hug my mom. It makes me proud to be a mom. "
