"On my first viewing of this movie, I didn't like it at all. I guess I thought it would be something other than what it is, going by the previews that I had seen. But over the years , and multiple viewings later, I've grown to appreciate it for the cinematic achievement that it is and it's amazing visuals. 7.5/10"

"I would of gave this movie 5 stars if jaguar paw didn't have so many dumb moments. Spoliers!!! First he looked at his dad showing the significance in their relationship so the other tribe murdered him. Then he looked at the area where he hid his wife and child brought attention to it and the bad tribe threw a giant ass rock down there. 3rd when he was running back I was like there is no way he is going to go back home until those guys are dead or long gone and once again exposing his wife and child. Now that is all out of the way this movie was traumatic and hard to watch in the sense it gave graphic scene of this opposing tribe going through the village raping women, throwing children, setting the village on fire and capturing up the captives. This was not a few minute scene to give you an idea this went on for a good portion in the beginning of the movie. I did like the story line I think it was interesting how certain things tied in and were connect. The use of the foreshadowing element really payed well into this movie. I highly recommend watching this gives a depiction of Mayan culture and life. "
