"A beautiful woman is told she's ugly all her life so makes up for it by being funny. Meets a gorgeous man who's a walking red flag, but never actually becomes one. He loves her, thinks she's beautiful and the only lie he tells her is an omission of him being in debt, he never uses her money. Then the roles become reversed, he believes hes not good enough for her so self sabotages and the end is really depressing. They glossed over so much of what wouldve happened that it looked like two people separated because of insecurities alone. Theres no mention of a first husband just found that out from the blurb on here. Very weird to have a beautiful girl who's supposed to be ugly, a funny girl who isnt that funny and a bunch of songs which lift what wouldve been a gritty drama filled story out of any emotion and investment in the narrative."
"Watch this movie just for Barbra Streisand"
