One night per year, the government sanctions a 12-hour period in which citizens can commit any crime they wish -- including murder -- without fear of punishment or imprisonment. Leo, a sergeant who lost his son, plans a vigilante mission of revenge during the mayhem. "Out of all the Purges, this is one of my top 3. Certainly better than the original Purge movie because there is more action, political conspiracy, & violence. I would not describe this movie as very scary, but it's fun and casual. Many of the characters are so ridiculously insane or stupid that they can even be funny. Some actors had good performances - others didn't. Overall, this is fun just because you'll know the Purge lore.
Note: While I don't think the Purge movies are bad, I think the idea has a lot of potential and the movies kind of missed the mark. They could've been better, more scary, more thematic, but they're just mid.
