"This incredibly gripping movie is on of the first gritty movies about life at the bottom. It was ahead if it's time and set the stage for movies like Taxi Driver. The two Anti-heroes are people you want to succeed, and the ending breaks your heart."

"I've wanted to watch this since I learned about the story around it from an episode of the animated sitcom Mission Hill. I'm glad I finally watched it, basically on a whim, because it's great and subversive as hell for 1969. Definitely an interesting piece of gay cannon that also strangely popularized most New York stereotypes that are still utilized today.
And hey, as ****** up as it is that this movie was rated X on release, it's kinda wild that it has the distinction of being the only X-rated movie to win an Academy Award."

"The phrase “Hey! I’m walking here!!” has some very sad and bittersweet context 🥲."
