Despicable Me 4

"I am so sick and tired of the immortal children. It's now been 4 movies, a redemption arc, a courtship, a marriage, at least 9 months for the baby, and a new baby. But the girls haven't aged a day? Come on! At least let us see them grow up a little for crying out loud! Now for the comedy. Or I mean nothing but cringe. Yeah most of it is just cringey nonsense used to make toddlers laugh. You will laugh once or twice, especially near the end, but it's mostly annoying to watch. Plenty of characters return, even ones you didn't need to, but of course Gru is as cool as ever. Plus the minions are what they are too. Can you really explain minions a better way though? Still its less than what you expect but at least we get to see Gru Junior. So why like it? Maybe it's because the ending makes you glad you've enjoyed the entire franchise (maybe enjoy is too strong a word) yet you will smile at the end. Bad singing, excellent song choice, and a nice wrap up reunion makes the film worth watching. You may even enjoy every predictable aspect of the story. As for the new characters. . .they're fine. They don't wow you by any means but they do grow on you. Not the villain but the rest of them prove to be rather fun. You'll feel callbacks to every movie while also watching the story expand in ways you don't quite wish it to. It's completely sappy nonsense a lot of the time that's still something you're kind of glad you watched. However, if you love the franchise this is a neat little wrap up you'll want to watch again."

"The minions are fun, but the villian is incredibly weak. I'm not a fan of the new character or the mega minions. At least the minions and the soundtrack are fun. Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig are still in top form though."

"Loved it!! For those saying the villain was too weak, I think he was meant to be more of a way for Gru to wrap up any past quarrels and make peace with any villains he defeated. Thus, letting him move on with his life undisturbed with his entire family. It’s a good way to wrap up a franchise if this is the last movie, more sentimental and less like the past movies. Totally want to see a minions superhero movie now 👀"

"After watching this, I’m a true believer in the theory that Gru has somehow made sure that the girls would never grow up. That aside, it was a pretty good movie, although I’m not a fan of Agnis’s new voice and how different Margo looks. Pretty funny, good animation, 4.5 stars. "
