Yes, it's a "Boogeyman movie" but it's not gonna be like Sinister for example. It felt like a more literal and kid friendly babadook, or before I wake even. It's a monster(literal or metaphorical) that serves as a manifestation of things like loss, grief and in this case, loneliness and being misunderstood. Long post yea, but it's a great gateway for new horror fans!"

horrorgeek shared a tip "*spoilers* it was alright, very similar to a lot of other boogeyman movies like Babadook and extremely predictable but if youre like me and very easily entertained then itll still be enjoyable to watch. If you're looking for a new revolutionary hardcore horror movie youre gonna be bored very quickly. I'm not a big fan of movies where the happy ending is that the autistic character is starting to act "normal" tho and I highly dought that a kid would magically start trying to talk after watching their mother die right in front of them but sure. that was really my only issue with the movie but who knows I might be overreacting about that."

unfinished_sentenc shared a tip "I'm gonna be 100% honest. Thia movie hit home for many reasons. Sure there were some unnerving parts as it is a horror, but I feel this should be labeled thriller and have a wholesome tag due to the ending. I would 100% watch this again."

Yeah there's continuity errors here and there, some shotty work on character arcs and situations that would have been avoided a little too easily, but what do you expect from a paranormal, predator-prey movie? I will, however, give a HUGE pat on the back to whoever directed the camera angles, because there are some shots here that are cooler than they need to be. Honestly, this one is a take it or leave it type, but try to give it a chance."

However, I am willing to overlook that entirely for the very pleasant surprise of the plot being actually autism-friendly! There was no implication that AAC is a “bad” or “lesser” form of communication, stims were explained and encouraged, and negative attitudes toward autism were not painted as acceptable. Refreshing and entertaining!"
