"Recommended to me by @mags_mcg ~ Good ⭐️ The emotions of A-Han and Birdy were palpable, so much so that I myself was upset for the pair and the pain they were going through. Nicely filmed, excellent acting from Edward Chen and Jing-Hwa Tseng. The beach scene was tender, and overall, this film leaves me with an emptiness of what could have been."

"this is such an intense, fantastic dive into the queer experience, especially for the era that it’s placed in. poignant, emotional, there’s a reason so many people acknowledge the realness and depth of this movie. "

"I got a little confused in the middle but it was still really good and it had a hopeful ending!"

"20 minutes in and I was already in tears. This movie broke my soul. The fact that it was inspired from the true story of the director too 🥲. I’m going to need a few months to recover from this movie. Now my favourite movie of al time. "

"normally i'm not a fan of shows without a dub, But this was totally worth reading the subtitles!"

"absolutely beautiful film; it highlights the gay experience in asian families in such a personal and honest way. the directing was done great although the timelines got a bit confusing at parts (maybe i wasn’t paying enough attention) would completely recommend to anyone looking for queer stories that are actually genuine, but there’s lots of TWs for homophobia, parental abuse, assault, etc. so tread carefully "

"I think this is one of the 2 movies I’ve cried from. It’s like #brokebackmountain but more tension"

"A little disappointed with the romance, but slightly harm-warming and sad"

"One of the best films I've ever seen with such a layered story to it. It is such a beautiful depiction of young queer love and the fact that it was based on the director's own life made it so much better. The history, the emotions, the traditions, and the execution are just stunning."
