"I stumbled on this by accident and wasn’t going to watch it but it happened to be on TV and when I saw who was in it and how young they were and so many out of their normal typecast characters, wow. Ryan Reynolds actually acted, he didn’t just get to be his normal smart ass self which he plays in every single role after this movie. Chris Pine was almost unrecognizable if not for his eyes, he played a role truly bizarre for him. Jason Bateman was also almost unrecognizable, I have never seen him play a character like that. Tommy Flanagan was so young I didn’t even recognize him at first, he didn’t really have any lines so it’s easy to miss that he was even in the movie. Joel Edgerton played what I am assuming was supposed to be a Russian with the worst accent ever, he’s the only one that was out of his normal typecast rolls but doing an awful job of it. I think that was the fault of the script though, he had very little lines. Although I’ve seen other actors do amazing things with very few lines, Edgerton just didn’t bring it to this role. The rest of the actors played characters you would expect them to. But watching the show for the actual acting that Bateman, Reynolds, and Pine performed was FUN. None of the characters were developed, at all. And there was very little story to the movie, the twist wasn’t all that surprising and the story was just not that complicated. The show was interesting because of the out of character acting for three notable actors. And the last thing I will say is that Jeremy Piven’s role was the epitome of how disgusting I find him. Not a great action movie but, if you’re familiar with the actors it is extremely interesting to see them so young and so many of them out of their typecast roles, getting their start in big Hollywood movies. "A comedy of errors, heavily armed. Incredible cast, including a Chris Pine tour de force."

"Catching it again since it's release. I'd categorize this under the "Ain't it Cool? / MTV video style" popcorn film. Filled with an all-star cast. This will not be held in hi-regard. It's definitely a 'dude film' and not for everyone. So if you like meaningless violence, guilty pleasure, or have nothing to watch on a weekend afternoon? This will be the movie for you. "
