"I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I think that creepy old people make for great antagonists in a horror movie. I watched Pearl first before seeing this one and I didn't care for it, but now I can appreciate it a little bit more just for the back story. But X is a much better movie. Good gore and some humor thrown in. Looking forward to seeing the third installment of the series. I give it an 8/10."
"Man, there should be a line movies can’t cross. You can’t unsee certain things, ya know? The first in a trilogy, I can’t tell if this is genius or just another slasher film set in the now always fashionable 70’s. Either way it’s mesmerizing and Mia Goth, who has two roles in this, is a star. Oh, and it’s super gory with tons of sex. "
"If I’m being completely honest I don’t understand the love for this movie I found it to be pretty poorly executed story wise and shot wise. I was very excited when I saw the trailer and thought it would be going back to some classic horror gory fun but I got no sense of classic 70’s/80’s horror besides look but even then I saw it as a bad costume instead of an actual attempt. For me the message of the story didn’t land. No yuck to peoples yum but nah. #horror #nothanks "
"Had been wanting to watch this with all the talk about it and now it’s on prime! Not what I expected but still enjoyed the atmosphere of this slasher. To put it mildly it was way more provocative than I anticipated but interesting themes there. Not a bad watch overall imo but I’m biased because I myself have enjoyed the performances by Mia Goth in her other films (Marrowbone/2018 Suspiria/infinity pool) and in this one as well . Bout a 7.5/10 for me "
"Not suprised I loved this horror movie coming from A24. This was basically a love letter to slasher films. Super creepy intense gory everything a horror fan is looking for. Jenna Ortega is becoming one of my favorite modern day scream queens. Ever since her performance in Netflix “You” I knew this genre was for her. Mia Goth and Brittany Snow were also stellar."
