"
An emotionally touching drama written & Directed by Zach Braff (GARDEN STATE), starring Florence Pugh & Morgan Freeman which deals with such subjects as loss, grief, & addiction. It eventually turned hopeful & uplifting, and even included a few comedic moments, therefore I thought this was enjoyable & relatable, and once again Braff included a handful of lovely song selections including two nice piano songs played & sung by Florence Pugh. ⭐️7/10⭐️ "
"I’ve been putting off watching this because it’s exactly what I thought it was. A really good movie, with fantastic acting, that is absolutely no fun to watch. Dealing with grief, addiction, relapse, all in a horrific, kinda realistic and painful way. It’s also Morgan Freeman’s best performance in more than 10 years. Florence Pugh is always amazing. But I really have to be in the right mindset to watch these and understand I’m gonna be bummed after. "

"First of all, what an incredible performance by Florence Pugh. WOW. And then there’s always Morgan Freeman and his angelic voice. Yes this movie is about how one mistake causes a flurry of grief and some ugly methods of dealing with grief, but it’s about a stronger and much more difficult emotion to process grief and addiction - it’s the power of forgiveness. "Saw the movie on prime awhile ago. My main interest was Florence Pugh. A very emotional drama with some comedic relief. This case of death in the family was very interesting. You have both parents die in an accident, Pughs character survived. Ryan (parents who died) is now being taken of by her grandfather. Ryan is also at times the main course of Allison’s (Pughs character) back tracking episodes. I got frustrated throughout as Ryan wasn’t corrected of her behavior, from her grandfather or uncle. Like she was but it wasn’t enough. I guess you could say Ryan’s motivation of speaking very freely to Alison about her past and the accident is the pain of her parents not being there. I felt for Alison as she didn’t get to say goodbye either. I don’t know really I just have rough feelings for the character Ryan. "
"It’s okay, and I don’t really know what else to say about it. I liked the line about loving your fate, although I think it muddles the message of the story, which is mainly about taking responsibility for your own actions. I wish we had gotten more insight into the thoughts and feelings of characters outside of Florence Pugh. Idk, if this movie sounds interesting to you, I’d recommend just watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay instead. It has a clearer message and a more entertaining story "
"Beautiful movie. Not a feel-good movie, by any means. But a real portrayal of dealing with grief and addiction. Great acting…overall worth the tears. "
