"This movie makes me physically ill due to how it's shot. I read the book when I was young and it effected me. I have made myself sit through this at least twice that I remember. Recommended. I also recommend the book. "

"3.75⭐️ Rewatch. Another classic in the satan trope that once upon a time scared the bejesus outta me but is more restrained than I remember. Nothing graphic to see here but definitely tense and compelling once it kicks into gear. A lot of overacting by the elders (Polanski’s intent I’m sure), with Mia’s somewhat mild and stilted (as was much of the direction and editing) but she gets a great deal better toward the middle to end, as her terrifying arc progresses. That arc an unveiled allegory of the hegemony over women, lack of bodily agency and the vulnerability of pregnancy. I’m sure that was NOT Polanski’s intent but ironically is what he did in a very chilling way. In any event another must-watch classic! "

"I watched this movie very recently in my life and I can say it is worth the hype! Just a solid creepy devil worshiping cult movie, and the best I’ve seen, I can see why it has influenced so many to come after. I really enjoyed how the main charter had some agency and even smelled something fishy before it truly came. But! I also can’t look past Roman Polanski’s misconduct and I in no way shape or from want to praise him but I will praise everyone else for their fantastic work on the film. "

"The classic that started the let’s-move-into-this-apartment building/home-that-has-a creepy background, then once things start happening we-have-to-get-out-of-here type movie. It was good. Definitely creepy. "

"An especially good horror classic that is well cast and brilliantly acted. John Casavettes is just the right level of smarmy as the husband who gives his wife to Satan to further his career! "

"I finally watched this movie. Considering the year it was made it was interesting to see an original story plotline. I was not expecting this movie to involve a cult or a physiological story. So, I was pleasantly surprised with that. However, the movie drags. There are parts of the movie that didn't need to be made, and I didn't enjoy the fact that the pregnancy took so long, let alone the time for her to get pregnant. The last thing... What does the baby look like?! I need to know! #horror "
