"I am giving this fun, entertaining and emotional movie about family and what truly makes a superhero four stars. I rate this movie four stars because of the refreshing background for the character Jamie Reyes, a Latino living in a multigenerational household. I truly adored seeing George Lopez play a role that wasn't cookie-cutter, and showed his talent for the large screen. The storyline is just as much about family ties and perseverance as it is about being superhero. The director made the two plots meet beautifully. There are good fighting sequences and a fair amount of action. Unfortunately, I felt that the role of the villain wasn't fully fleshed out until very late in the movie, almost too late for us to understand his passion for what he believes is justice and family. I would recommend this movie to families, but some scenes may be too emotional for smaller children. The story is clean with a few abrasive words and one kiss. Although she was needed to play the corporate villain, Susan Sarandon didn't have much to do, and had barely enough gravitas as a baddie. There is a mid-credits scene, and a funny post-credits scene."

Worth watching as the man works to help his family, while being brought into plans that have been decades in the making that have global implications of destruction!"

"Most movies in the DCEU are a day late and a dollar short. What I mean by that is, this movie is nothing that we haven't seen before and is predictably mediocre at best in the superhero genre. You can't really blame the filmmakers, the fault lies with the creators of the source material. As it is with most DC characters, they are riddled with lazy writing and lack imagination as it pertains to the origin story . I'm utterly unimpressed. 3/10"

"It took a min to get where it was going but when it did, it got super good. Can you ever go overboard with a positive family message? This tries at times. I don’t keep up with DC phases and tie ins. But this is a solid, exciting action movie that stands on its own. "

There were a few plot points that seemed strange or silly, they didn't "ruin" the movie but it changed it from being a great movie to a good movie. "

"I am not sure why this movie got such a bad rep. It's not that bad. The family in it drives me bonkers. It's their fault what happened. I am shocked how much cussing was in this movie. Don't get me wrong, I have the mouth of a sailor, just was shocked by it. It made me laugh anytime someone cussed. It could be a drinking game. I'm not sure I'll ever watch this movie again, but it was entertaining for a one time watch. "
