"I was 16 when this came out. It's now become a classic. I enjoy this movie for the childhood innocence and heartfelt lessons learned. The story of the grandfather that Kevin meets is my favorite thing in the film. Second is John Candy's cameo as part of the polka band who helps Kevin's Mom, Catherine O'Hara, make her way home. Highly recommend to all. "

"RE-WATCH: It’s been a while since I last saw this movie, but gee, Kevin’s family is A LOT meaner than I remember them being. Like I get sometimes he could be annoying to them but give the kid a break! He’s 8 years old for crying out loud! Besides the serious family issues going on in this film, I forgot how good the physical comedy is in it! Chris Columbus and John Hughes nailed it! Plus, the score is one of my favorites! Definitely my favorite Christmas movie, bar none!"
