"Raw, compelling, and unpredictable in the best way possible.
If you're looking for a #psychological thriller that challenges the genre’s conventions, LOVE LIES BLEEDING does that brilliantly. This film takes you into the heart of its characters' desperation, with raw performances and a storyline that keeps you on edge. It doesn’t shy away from showing the darker side of human nature, but it’s done with such tension and nuance that you can’t look away.
⭐️7/10⭐️for its uniquely haunting & visceral quality, enhanced by a soundtrack and film score that perfectly match the movie's tone. #sapphic #thriller #ambition #obsession #bodyhorror "
"4⭐️ Ugh .. I wanted to love this film so much. I mean I kind of did!? The first hour had it headed to a 5⭐️ rating for me. Ok maybe a 4.5 but I was loving its grittier, raunchier, dirtier, gorier NOIR mash-up of maybe Thelma and Louise and Flashdance. Without the dancing .. or fun or flash. I know. Hear me out. Stylistically. The sweat dripping body scanning close ups, the camera angles of the workout scenes (particularly the face forward sit ups taken straight from that movie ~ very 80s), the softly vibrant color aspect and cinematography, plus a VERY cool, absolutely spot on, pulsingly mesmeric soundtrack, heck even Jackie’s hair (lol) ~ all very similar!
Also I actually really like Kristen Stewart for reasons that have not a thing to do with Twilight. I just think she’s a good actress .. as long as she’s in the right role that allows her introspective broodiness the space to expand and contract, then her nuance and charisma comes through and she can really shine. This film is that for her but I couldn’t take my eyes off BOTH leads and their chemistry together was palpable.
The last hour though is when it gets really crazy and ultra dark, devolving way into the melodramatic before going straight to the ridiculous and finally a little camp which felt kind of like a 180. Looking back though I realize hints of dark humor. There’s a strong allegory of women’s rage, power and strength in there but it metaphorically comes through in an unexpected way. I was left conflicted as to how I perceived it. Yet .. I’ll probably be thinking about it for a long time.
This film is non stop, very well paced, never boring and totally off the rails. I could not stop watching. And definitely still a Kristen fan.
Also even though I said what I said don’t go in thinking it’s Flashdance. It is not. "
"I was really enjoying this gritty crime drama for most of the movie... Until the sequence in the final act ruined it for me. I'm not really a fan of Kristen Stewart but I thought she did a good job with this role. Ed Harris is excellent in just about everything he does so no surprise there. Katy O'Brian delivers a standout performance in my opinion. Without giving anything away, there are a couple of scenes that seemed weird and out of place. That, I can overlook, but I can't get past that totally bizarre scene in the final act that comes out of left field. I understand the symbolism but it's just too much of an"art house" feel and seemed so out of place. Points off for that alone. 6.5/10"

"Not really sure I see the point in this other than just to be a big raunchy lesbian ‘slasher?’ movie. This just didn’t do it for me and the ‘giant’ scene… what?! No seriously, what?? Why was that in there?"
