"I absolutely loved this movie. Every scene is flawless, the terror you feel alongside the protagonist is insane. The suspense is intense, even as I'm writing this, my heart is still pumping with the energy of that final scene. Although I don't necessarily think this is a movie for everyone, this was nearly a perfect movie for me. Easily the best movie I've seen in recent times. "

"This movie was something totally different from what I’m use to. But that doesn’t change how good this was. "

"Contains spoilers! A movie about a pretty sad and pathetic boy wanting to be one of the greats and caring about literally nothing else. He even says that he would rather die at 34 as long as people remember him rather than die at an old age if nobody knows who he is. Well guess what weirdo, us ‘nobodies’ are a hell of lot happier and more fulfilled than people like you will ever be. This move is basically saying that verbal and physical abuse makes you a better musician. What kind of message is that?!
This movie is is technically ‘good’ but it just didn’t do it for me at all. First of all the teacher was the most obnoxious POS I’ve ever seen in a movie. All he did was was scream his head off and verbally- and sometimes physically- abuse absolutely everybody. He’s one of the most pathetic characters I’ve ever seen in a movie. I hated him so much and it really annoyed me that no one- before Andrew- stood up to him. I’ve not wanted to see somebody get punched in the face that badly in a long time. Also there were WAY too many shots of Andrew madly playing the drums until his fingers bled. WE GET IT! He really really wants it. The side love story was so effing stupid as well. He literally asked her out just to say ‘we can’t see each other anymore’. I didn’t like a single character in this film and to be honest it felt half finished. There was no depth to it. It is literally about a boy wanting to be a great drummer. That’s it, there is nothing else going on and absolutely no substance to it. It had one level… screaming and yelling. Also am I crazy or was the music actually terrible?! It’s mental to me that somebody would practice until their fingers bled to play awful ‘music’. It was just noise! Yes it was extremely hard what he did but just because it was technically difficult it doesn’t mean it sounds good. "
