"Even after reading @maggs’ enticing (and ‘titillating’ 🤭) review, I wasn’t quite prepared for the provocative sexual dynamics in THREE WOMEN, nor for the amount of full nudity (of both sexes) that the show contains. Definitely not what I was expecting! … Nevertheless, it turned out to be a #compelling watch. Betty Gilpin, who played Lina, was my FAVORITE character, and I enjoyed her story the most. I hadn’t seen Gilpin in anything before, but I was thoroughly impressed with her portrayal of Lina. Gilpin is known for her role in the popular series GLOW (2017–2019), which I never watched when it originally aired. But after seeing her performance here, I’m definitely interested in checking out GLOW—both to see her role and Allison Brie’s. With an 8/10 IMDb score, it must be worth watching.
▪️THREE WOMEN is a #10_episode #LimitedSeries on #STARZ, adapted from Lisa Taddeo’s 2019 #nonfiction #book. The show dives into the complex #emotional and #sexual lives of three women: 1) Lina (Betty Gilpin), a woman in a loveless marriage seeking emotional fulfillment; 2) Sloane (DeWanda Wise), navigating the complexities of an open marriage; and 3) Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), revisiting an inappropriate relationship with a teacher. The series also introduces Gia (Shailene Woodley), a journalist who explores these women’s stories.
