"I'm going to start this new Matlock off at 5 stars. The opening episode was great. Kathy Bates channeled the quirks of old Matlock perfectly. The show is self aware and pokes fun at the connection to the old show. *Potential Spoilers * But this show is something different. Nothing is what we think it is and there are clues leading up to the revelation at the end of the episode. I picked up on a couple right away and missed some. I wasn't expecting that ending and can't wait for the next episode."
