trinity_butler shared a tip "It's not very fair to compare this series to Brotherhood, the more faithful adaptation in terms of correlation to the original source material. Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) was created when the manga was still running, so once the anime caught up, they had no choice but to diverge and finish the story themselves. You'll notice watching Brotherhood and 2003 that there's a stark contrast with the style, whether it's the art, tone, music or characterizations. 2003 adds more development to their small pool of characters, focusing on a more personal journey. I'd argue there's a deeper sense of realism in 2003 than in Brotherhood, as there are layers that create a more human, complex character. You'll also notice that relationships are handled differently, too, and some characters get much more screen time. Overall, 2003 offers a more ethical, philosophical experience while Brotherhood offers a more lighthearted, action packed one."

Louis armstrong is literally the funniest ever but the funniest scene was when roy mustang announced that he would make girls wear skirts if he was the furher. It was joke but it was unexpected from his character, even though he makes snide remarks. The saddest moment ever was hughes died. When his daughter asking their burying daddy, he hasn't finished his working bawling. My fav alphonse. And it made consider a lot it things"

axel_morgan shared a tip "Absolutely. This is the first FMA anime that was made before the manga was completed, so I recommend watching it before brotherhood because it does deviate from the manga halfway through where brotherhood is a closer adaptation."

michael_monsson shared a tip "Yeah actually the Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is also worth a watch. Despite the similar names they are different enough. Also Attack on Titan is a darker story but good. Also Fairy Tail or My Hero Acadamia on a lighter side story wise would be good picks."
