"G.E.N.I.U.S. Every bit about this show is killer and I was just so surprised by how great it is. I also learned a lot from it and was soooo caught up in the storyline - every episode an awesome caper while keeping a consistently mind-blowing narrative. I always wanted more and it always delivered, so well made."
"I watched the original Carmen Sandiego back before cable on the channel Qubo, which people nowadays probably never heard of. I'd say this is a very nice reboot of the series. It is engaging, and you still have that learning aspect that the previous show had in abundance. Animating style can be a hit or miss for some, but I found it quite refreshing. And I did happen to like the ending as well. All in all, a nice show that can be watched by all ages. Kids might even try to act like they are spies for a while after watching this. A few cousins of mine, both under 10 watched this and any time they came over we would play act like we are spies. Great show recommendable to all ages"
"A good show for all children! This is one of many shows I’ve been roped into watching with my cousin over the years, and this one turned out to be one of my favorites. Unique animation style, good use of music, somewhat interesting characters, and an overall plot that had me pretty interested for a children’s cartoon. I was surprised to find that the show actually tackles some pretty dark themes especially in later seasons for a TV-Y7 series. Unfortunately where I did find the show lacking was in its sense of humor and some of its side characters. The jokes just didn’t land for me, but considering I’m not the target audience I don’t blame the show, since it had my cousin laughing enough. As well as the side characters just being around as a source of exposition or jokes, most of them fell flat for me. Maybe they wouldn’t fall so flat, if it weren’t for how great they handle the lead character of Carmen Sandiego herself. I don’t know any Carmen Sandiego lore (if there even is such a thing), so I can’t speak for any other interpretations of the character, but they did a great job in my eye. She was awesome, and they don’t shy away from tackling some heavy ideas with her character, I just wish they’d done the same with the rest of the characters in the show. But despite my minor issues with the side characters and humor, this was a fun enough watch with my cousin. Not every episode was a hit, sometimes I did find myself straying to my phone or just spacing out, but for the most part it held my attention and had me interested in the world building they do attempt here. If you are looking for a show to start with your kid, I’d advise giving this a shot, I doubt you’ll regret it. My cousin has had me watch a plethora of new animated series, and considering the quality of some other projects, this one stands well above the rest, even if it’s not entirely perfect. "
