"If you’re a sci-fi fan then you’ll probably dig this interesting story. I’m going to continue with the trilogy because I absolutely need to know how it ends. Also really interested in the Netflix series coming out later this month. Prime already has a 30 episode adaptation but not sure if I want to tackle something that long after reading the source material. Anyway, good good science fiction."
"I’m going to continue with the series, but I found this less focused on the philosophy than I’d hoped. It was certainly interesting listening to all of the different groups and individuals to learn their motivations and such, I just wish there was more of that included. Then again, this was one of my gripes in the first Dune book and the subsequent books were more illuminating, so maybe that will happen here?"

"This is a total mind trip. It took a little effort for me to get into it, but once I did I could totally understand why people like it. It helps if you have some basic understanding and appreciation for science and history, but they also do an amazing job of explaining complicated concepts."
"Has interesting sci-fi ideas, and historical allegories. The story itself occasionally gets washed out in favor of the author's physics obsession, and a lot of characters are pretty bland. If you want a story, it's a pass. If you want to engage critically with the book, it's a buy."
