"Basically, a court of thorns and roses, beauty and the beast, and 50 shades of grey with a modern greek mythology retelling all rolled into one. Storyline is intriguing initially, but it hits all the classic tropes of enemies to lovers and forced proximity, etc. The writing could be better, but hey, we all know why we read this book, and it wasn't for the great storytelling. 😉 I will probably read the rest of the series because it was just interesting enough to have me hooked and want to finish the book in nearly one sitting. Spice level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/5. "
"This was a really good book! Modern day Greek Gods! Very spicy!🥵 I loved how sweet Hades was with Persephone, and how things between them just felt natural. He tries to be all cold and broody, but he's actually such a softie! Super focused on consent and aftercare, which I loved! The plot was good, but I wish there was a little more focus on the world building. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book, and will definitely be checking out book two!"
"Greek Gods okay...yea I'm in. This story was really good. I liked how she wrote about the Greek gods but with a modern take. The romance was a bit too much for me but I got through it. I think Hermes was my favorite character, she was pretty funny. I think Katee Robert will grow on me and be one of my favorite authors when I read her other books. Will I be picking up book 2? Yes, yes I will."
"3.25/5 ⭐️ dual pov. A dash of Greek mythology, a dash of plot, and a large portion of spice! This book is good. The world building is pretty is sparse but enough to keep track. The dialogue is fine there is enough but less than I prefer and the plot focuses heavily on spice. Even with that said there isn’t an overwhelming amount of spice. It’s good spice and the book sort of revolves around it but there are only a handful of scenes. Overall this book was good in a pinch. Not sure I’d recommend it. 2.5-3/5 spice level. "
"These books are a good palate cleanser for me between more complex longer books. Avoid them if you mind a lot of non fade to black spice."
