"Day 16 of #Horrortober (which is actually movie 16 because I’m behind but I will catch up) and I get to watch one of my recent favorite horror trilogies from Ti West. A24 has been my favorite in the filming industry for the last 8 years. I can’t believe it’s been that long. Anyway did I like this last installment in the X series YES. Do i love Mia Goth and will watch almost everything she’s in YES. Is this the best film out the trilogy NO. It’s actually the weakest but it’s hard to come behind such great predecessors. Pearl being my favorite out the three. This film probably had the most potential to be the best. Hollywood in the 80’s with a famous serial killer running around the city. It sounds good on paper but it’s kind of a weak plot. It Lacks the bite and unpredictability of its predecessors. It’s not all bad because the style, performances, soundtrack and pace is executed fairly well. If you like the X universe then you still will have some fun with this."

"Omg I have never been so stuck on what to rate this film likewise you need to let us have half stars okay honestly one star is here because of the magnificent mia goth. I have such high hopes such build up excitement for this film I specifically saved it for my Halloween viewing. I was super disappointed and let down. Let's get the first thing out of the way Halsey acting is not for you my love. Okay I get this is suppose to be the follow up to x but besides the few scattered scenes and the random private detective as well as the sprinkle of her pastor father what did that have to do with the night stalker why was there the correlation. There was a lot of ideas and none of them seem to be completed or thought out. This was not a masterpiece like x or pearl. I'm not saying it's one of the worst movies I have seen its definitely worth a watch if you have seen the other 2 but I was sitting there at the end like what the **** but not in a good way :( "
"Not as good as the other two. Just didn’t seem quite as gritty and unique. I am now officially obsessed with Mia Goth though. "

"Spoilers here. I am probably in the the minority but Ti, what is this conclusion? You had more cash for music and bigger name actors but the journey was better than the destination in my drunk review. X and Pearl had the “X” factor. This started great but the full circle with pops and Maxine getting what she always wanted felt… Hollywood? Is that what I’m missing? If I’m watching the mediocre outcome of most movie stars then I get it. It’s not what I expected or wanted. The end is maybe too close to reality in it’s mediocrity. So here we are. I need another drink. "
"“MaXXXine” had that “it” factor and was a magnificent final installment of the X trilogy, taking place in richly atmospheric 1980’s Hollywood. Maxine Minx is boss at beating up bad guys and holding her own in every possible, even life-or-death, scenario. She’s the definition of a hardcore scream queen who isn’t afraid to put up a fearsome fight. She ventures full-force into the realm of acting in horror movies and sticks it to anyone who tests her. I thought it was iconic how she told everyone, from her hell-of-a-ride convertible, that they should just go home from a casting call because she nailed her audition. Her chef’s kiss confidence is magic and effortless and really demonstrates that you shouldn’t get on her bad side anytime soon for fear of facing her unspeakable wrath. She could, at any time, pounce and hunt you down, acting out with complete vengeful malice.
Most importantly, in her direct line of firing is a mysterious murderer on the nightly prowl, one Maxine is full-on ready to take on and handle. They stop at nothing to kill, just like her, as she becomes their most unrivaled threat that goes to show that two can play at this game. Maxine has to dig deep, unlocking the intricately layered mystery behind this particular killer while working to simultaneously understand their motives to outthink and outmaneuver them. I had a ball watching her be an entirely gutsy force to be reckoned with and I think you just may too! "
"I had high hopes going into this movie because I loved both X and Pearl, but unfortunately, I left the theater unenthused... I thought the gore and the acting was great! However, I felt that the people killed in this (besides the villains) were unnecessary kills. I also thought that the big reveal in the end was meant to be a big twist, but I sat there thinking, "really?". In my own opinion, I don't think this movie needed to be made for the franchise. I do think it's a good movie by itself though"
