"Matilda was one of my favorite movies when I little, it meant so much to me and in my little brain it understood me and even spoke my language. The fact that the adults in the movie where flawed people who couldn’t/didn’t want to understand the children around them made me feel seen in the world cause I too had a hard time with the adults in my life blatantly ignoring my struggles and even bullying me into submission. I wanted so badly to be just like Matilda with her fantastical powers and impeccable fashion sense. But don’t worry it’s not all spooky and traumatic the cozy atmosphere and playful nature of this film make the pill easier to swallow however and Miss.Honey was the warmth and heart of the film. We should all be the Miss.Honey in the children we know lives. I’d say this movie has a beautiful message about respecting children and their autonomy as individuals being kind to them in such a crucial time in their lives. "
