"HIS THREE DAUGHTERS (2024) is a family #drama that revolves around three estranged #sisters who come together to care for their dying father in his New York City apartment. As they confront their differing perspectives on their father and their #relationships with one another, long-buried #conflicts resurface. The movie explores themes of #grief, #sibling_rivalry, and the emotional complexity of #family dynamics, set against the backdrop of their father’s imminent death. Each sister’s personality and life choices come into sharp focus, creating a space for deep #introspection and #tension as they navigate this challenging period together.
■ These three lead actresses deliver excellent, nuanced performances. You'll love Natasha Lyonne as the cannabis chain-smoking sister; Elizabeth Olson portrays the quirky, slightly neurotic sibling with a good mix of strength and vulnerability; and I loved Carrie Coon as the intense, take-charge, uptight sister!
■ NOTE: Carrie Coon will also star in the upcoming third season of THE WHITE LOTUS (2025), and I’m already excited to see her character, as she truly excels at playing "intense!" — I had forgotten that she played the supportive twin sister of Ben Affleck's character in GONE GIRL and served as Police Chief Gloria Burgle in FARGO (Season 3). She was also excellent in THE LEFTOVERS. I haven’t seen her in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, INFINITY WAR, or WHAT IF, where she plays Proxima Midnight, a member of the Black Order. Among her many other roles, one I missed and want to watch her performance in next is the highly-rated period drama THE GILDED AGE."
"This is a movie for those who like to watch actors act. A dysfunctional family melodrama, dad is on hospice and his three adult daughters come home to be there. Great performance from all three; Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olson and Carrie Coon. As you’d expect, it’s a hard watch. Especially the first half when each character is only shown by their worst trait. No fun. It rally’s late and has a cool ending that helps tremendously. "
"This is such a fantastic film! Reminiscent of Hal Ashby films from the 1970s, this is a moving character-driven drama exploring the lives of 3 sisters who are taking care of their dying father, simultaneously exploring the range of issues the siblings have along the way. This film hit in an all too real way for me, especially in terms of the family drama aspect. This was doubly so considering that I generally connect with films about family dynamics.
Phenomenal acting across the board, especially from the 3 leads (Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne) who are really believable in their roles, and the writing and direction by Azazel Jacobs that does a great job in drawing you into each of the characters and keeps the plot focused throughout. What really impressed me not only the ability to make a compelling drama using a very limited setting (similar to 12 ANGRY MEN in that sense), but also the ability to successfully capture the overall vibes of character driven dramas that the early 1970s films had (that is probably my favorite era of movies personally due to the focus on characters and the ability to make you care for them). Frankly speaking, I sorely miss these kinds of movies nowadays, and I hope the film finds a wider audience. This is another example that shows that a good script, actors, and director(s) are all you need to make a good movie. Very highly recommended."

"Really enjoyed this wholesome movie. Very simple but heavy. 3 sisters who are very different, come together in a hard time with their father, trying to work together for his end of life. This turned out to be beautiful. Very cute and very well done. I absolutely LOVE LOVE Natasha Lyonne. Very good. 8/10 ⭐️ "
"Slow moving but worth it, great cast and the story is touching. "
