For the longest time I’ve always believed that I already saw this film. Reason being astronaut films have always been a sub genre that attracts me. I make it my business to watch every one released. So much so I tricked myself to believing I already watched this. Ever since a child when I first saw “Apollo 13” I have been drawn to space movies. This film right here surpassed that by miles. It crushed me and blew my mind and broke me all over again. I spent majority of this watch unsuccessfully holding tears back. Just like Murphy (Mackenzie Foy)my daughter will be 10 this summer. And I spent the entire watch just thinking how much it would hurt me to leave her like that. Just like Cooper(Matthew McConaughey) there is no length I wouldn’t go to protect my child. I know this is more of a rant then a review but I just had to speak from the heart. I honestly feel “Interstellar” is one of the greatest films created now. I don’t even understand how somebody could write this elaborate convoluted epic powerful story.While many fans and critics will consider “The Dark Knight” Christopher Nolan's best film, Interstellar proves itself superior in a multitude of ways. Due to its incredible visuals, emotional story, top-notch acting, and iconic score.(Man that score is something else). The way everything comes together at the end makes this a masterpiece for filmmaking. It just might be the best science fiction film to date in my opinion.
