A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind and water. It is cold enough to crack stones and, when the snow falls, it is gray. Their destination is the warmer south, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there.

"Devastating and sobering. Viggo Mortensen (my love) as a nameless man embodies humanity and it's ability to push through devastation regardless. In order to protect his son he keeps going even at great risk. In the end, I wept. This is based on a book by the same name by Cormac McCarthy. Highly recommended. "
"1st rewatch since it came out in 09. Based on the very uniquely written book by Cormac McCarthy. I remember when I first saw it I was disappointed. It definitely isn’t an action movie, like most post apocalyptic flicks, but instead a bleak, brutal and probably more realistic story than any of the others. It doesn’t really have a plot. Just a man and his very young son trying to survive. A+ cast, mostly in cameos, including an incredible one by Robert Duvall. Not a fun watch but mesmerizing nonetheless. "
"I know I saw this, though disturbing I thought it was good. But I don’t remember it well enough to give it a fair rating."

"Devastating but good review of what’s important and what you can let go. Chose this for query re how to get to know me. I believe we are living in end times and believe humans are on a trajectory of self- extermination and exterminating most life on planet Earth. We laughed at the image of Nero fiddling while Rome burned but it is our destiny. The Road captures this destiny, where hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul."
