"A rewatch after a long time. Such an incredibly well made film overall. Incredible direction and layered screenplay by Tony Gilroy highlighting the various shades of human nature. Adding to this are the incredible acting by George Clooney, Tilda Swinton (deserved Supporting Actress Oscar win for her) and most importantly the late great Tom Wilkinson (who passed away yesterday). His performance of a man basically breaking down after discovering a disturbing truth is both incredibly captivating and hard to watch at the same time, and his ability to effortlessly juggle so many different aspects of that character is nothing short of incredible (such an incredibly bad luck he was up against Javier Bardem in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN). Such a fantastic presence in movies (he was also memorable in the first RUSH HOUR as well) and he will be incredibly missed. A great recommendation especially for those interested in checking out his work."

"I love legal thrillers and am a big fan of Tony Gilroy (Jason Bourne, Andor), so I was surprised to find I didn't enjoy this one.
My big issue was with the titular character of Michael Clayton. He seemed pretty oblivious for someone who has been a legal "fixer" for 12 years. I'd figure this scenario would be somewhat par for the course for him during his time at the firm.
The movie also reorders certain events in a way that ends up removing all of the tension from a climactic sequence.
Overall, the movie isn't bad bad it just wasn't what I was expecting and a lot of it didn't work for me."

"The movie has outstanding cast, story, writing and everything in between.
Portrayal of Arthur, Michael Clayton’s friend played by Tom Wilkinson is pure perfection. Arthur is bipolar and the plot revolves around something he did because he is bipolar, and Wilkinsons portrayal of bipolar genius is mind blowing. Every character is perfectly cast and played. This is one of the most underrated movies I’ve ever seen. "
