"Inspired by a #truestory —
If you’re a reader, I highly recommend the book as well!
SYNOPSIS: Desperately wanting to get away from his overbearing father & desiring to be totally self-reliant, an idealistic young man who grew up in Southern California, makes the decision to completely abandon & cut off all communication with his family — leaving behind both his parents & his compatibly close & slightly younger sister — in the summer of 1990, soon after receiving his bachelor’s degree. He heads out on a grand adventure — his final destination is the Alaskan wilderness. He travels alone to many places, mostly by foot or by hitchhiking, or by hopping a few trains, living a tramp lifestyle. Along the way, he makes friends & meets many new people, & works a few odd jobs before finally reaching Alaska. But once he’s finally alone, out in the vast, remote wilderness, tragedy ironically ensues soon thereafter….."

"Very good movie. If you like to read, I would say read the book first. Really great story. Of course the book is better but this time the movie is really good too. Enjoy! "

"A sad story, a sad childhood, abusive home environment, never feeling loved, all leads to tragic decisions as an adult. Proves you can’t run away from your past. You have to find help to deal with those issues or things will just get worse. "
