It's funny. I don't actually believe in true love on a romantic level but I do love me a good rom-com!
Alexandra Daddario has the most beautiful eyes. I love her in everything. Tyler Hoechlin is handsome, but not anyone I would go gaga over. They have nice chemistry. She's adorable and goofy and clumsy with herself, and he's a really nice guy who doesn't like to talk about himself. They meet on a plane and have a very memorable trip together. It was an awkward and quirky meet cute. 🤪
I definitely enjoyed it for the rom-com that it is, but I wouldn't watch it again. It had a lot of flaws, in my opinion. While it was definitely funny, it also felt like not much happened. It was your basic rom-com formula but was lacking in any real depth. Yes, she tells him all her secrets, but they weren't really a big deal, like she makes it out to be. He doesn't tell her anything but seems to have one big secret. The secret ends up being pretty dumb and not even worthy of secrecy. An altercation after a dance performance felt really dumb. The two obstacles they faced were dealt with fairly quickly. In that way, it felt more true to life and not drawn out for dramatic effect. Other than a short moment on a plane at the end, it wasn't one of those cheesy rom-com endings, which I did like about the movie. None of that running-after-the-other-person-in-a-crowded-airport-while-everyone-around-you-helps-to-get-their-attention-so-you-can-tell-them-how-stupid-you've-been-(usually-over-a-microphone-so-the-entire-airport-can-hear-you)-and-you-will-love-them-forever-if-they'll-give-you-one-more-chance-and-then-everyone-claps-and-says-"awwwww"-as-you-kiss-while-end-credits-begin nonsense. I didn't get the cringe factor some people have talked about. It was funny, not cringey. All-in-all it was a cute movie and fun to watch and relax to. Nothing very heavy about it. Just a simple message: Be yourself and others will love you for who you are. Or maybe just someone. *shrug*"
